Good quality for the price, minor design flaws July 6, 2010 mechPE I bought this chair to relieve the stress on my lower back from sitting most of the day. I have a ruptured disk that causes great pain in my leg.
Pros: The quality of the chair is not bad. The pads are generous and sturdy although after several hours of sitting they eventually do start to hold the shape. I weight 165 lbs for reference. The design of the chair helps with my posture. I sit up straight and feel more active and engaged in what I'm doing. The posture makes me use my lower back muscles to stay straight.
Cons: After a few hours my back starts to get tired from holding such a straight posture. I'm hoping that my back strength will improve after a few weeks. Adjusting the height of the chair tilts the wheels so that they don't pivot. For normal wheels that would not be a problem but these are casters. This is not necessarily a show stopper. The chair will still move around. I happen to be 5'-10" and I've got the chair adjusted just a little above the middle. I'd like to go higher but I've kept it lower so I can reach my desk and to keep the wheels turning. I definitely think there is a better design out there (take a look at the kneelsit chair) but for the price it is not a bad option. If the kneelsit chairs were a little more affordable I think I'd buy one of those.
They come in different sizes? June 22, 2010 abigail So I bought this chair because I have one that LOOKS exactly like it at work and I wanted one for home. Well when I got it they do look identical except this one is about twice as big! And as such it is totally uncomfortable for me. I had no idea these come in different sizes and there is no indication on this ad to order different sizes or it current dimensions. A bit disappointed and it currently sits unused in the guest bedroom.
OK chair, wrong product October 12, 2009 Thomas E. Hallman (PA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ordered the chair pictured but the chair in the box was a different model! ??
Tried out the chair and it was fine, so I opted to keep it
rather than go thru the hassle of a return. How did that happen??
Quite Sturdy and Comfortable March 7, 2009 K. Baronciani (Roanoke, VA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This chair is great. Of the different ergonomic chairs i've tried, i wouldn't say it's the best overall, but it is definitely the best for the price. Both my husband and i use it and we agree it is quite sturdy and comfortable. The seat height is adjustable so you can decide how much you want to lean on your knees. This height adjustment essentially just changes the angle of the seat. It doesn't really help adjust for height.
My husband is 6'2" and a little over 200lbs and the chair is a bit smaller than ideal for him. He has to rest his feet on the ground a little because his legs are so long. I am 5'10" and the chair fits me perfectly. My toes just barely touch so my ankles are relaxed and comfortable. I would say anybody who is over 5'2 and 6' and under would fit very comfortably into this chair. It should also be said my husband uses this chair more than i do and very much likes it.
The knee cushions are adequate, but i do have a small issue with the butt cushion being a little thin (It is wide enough though!). If i sit in in for hours i just lower the seat angle a little and put a pillow under my butt. For the price this is a great chair (we paid about $85). If your budget is higher i would go with one of the nicer chairs, but if you are looking to try out the ergonomic style chair without really investing it one, this is a great option.
Assembly was a little difficult. It took my husband a little over an hour. It did come with all the little pieces. It probably would have been easier to put together if i had been available to help him.
Watch your weight February 22, 2009 RadiantDreamer (New Castle DE) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I ordered this chair because it said it exceeded standards. I was very sad to open the chair and see a sticker that says the MAXIMUM weight for this chair is 200 pounds. No one in my house weighs less than 200 pounds, and with the position you are put in this chair it's not worth the risk to us and it is going back in the mail. I am ordering the Jobri F1420 Standard Kneeling Chair which supports weight up to 280 lbs.
