Not quite level August 29, 2010 Nathan D. Henderson (Ohio) After assembling this stool, I found that the tube between the footring and base wasn't rolled for the taper very well. This creates a seating surface that is not level throughout the swivel motion. Slightly annoying to me. I haven't contacted Boss yet to see if they would send me a new post, but I plan to.
The post could also be a little shorter for me as well. I am rather tall, 6'2", and I'm sitting at a pretty high table with this stool, about 37" to the top. I feel a little cramped or like my knees are being raised too high when I use the footring. I just might head to a local fabrication shop and see if they can't make me something a little shorter and tapered properly, then I will have myself a 5-star stool.
Other than these problems this is a really nice stool. It feels very solid and does not seem "cheap" at all.
Awesome chair ! August 7, 2010 Khurram Shahzad
I ordered this chair for my wife, and she loved it. After getting this chair i read her facebook status that said "loving her new chair"... It was easy to assemble and looks sturdy.
Gas cylinder crapped out after a month of use. August 4, 2010 T. Farrell (Seattle, WA.) This chair would've been fine for what I'm using it for but the gas cylinder failed after about 5 weeks. It's cheaply made but what would you expect for the price- drafting chairs are expensive. I was sitting in it, working, and suddenly it just sank to it's lowest setting. It's been that way since.
PLEASE READ FOR CORRECT SEAT HEIGHT June 16, 2010 B. Hooper (Little Rock, AR.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
BEWARE - The seat height dimension for this chair are way off. The lowest height WITHOUT the rolling casters is at the lowest 24 inches. The desk I use this at is 28 1/2 inches and this chair, again WITHOUT the casters just barely gives me room to put my legs under it. In one of the reviews it stated that the dimensions were off but they didn't give any true dimensions, so I took a chance and ordered it. I am using it as I type this review, and it does work, however, I do have to pull my keyboard closer because of the height of the chair. It really is a great chair for the price. It arrived a day earlier than expected, took about 20 minutes to assemble. I really like the arm rests, as it allows me to use the keyboard while resting my arms. The seat is well padded and is comfortable. Since the desk I use this at extends out, I can swivel this chair to leave the desk without having to move the chair, which is great because I had to leave the casters off. You could leave the bottom foot ring off and use the casters as the foot rung does add to the height, but being a short person, I like the foot rung to rest my feet on and this was the primary reason for ordering this type of chair.
Comfortable and Easy to assemble April 2, 2010 Susan E. Moore (FORT WHITE, FLORIDA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Boss Drafting chair I recently purchased was not only very reasonable in price, but it is a nice drafting chair. I use it in my work room with a tall table when I do painting or crafts. The foot rest (ring) is great. I have had back surgery and this chair is just what I need to enjoy once again doing crafts and painting. The chair is comfortable and has side arms to rest on.The chair looked better in person than on website. Woodslady
