Bait and Switch July 31, 2010

I purchased this chair with the expectation that I would receive the one shown in the picture. It arrived in a timely manner, but when I opened the box, it was a light brown, rather than the darker cherry finish as shown in the picture above. I immediately wrote them through the Amazon website, saying that they sent me the wrong chair.

The next day, I received no apology, but rather a Return Authorization number and return instructions from a 'do not reply' address. I then tried to phone Restockit to talk to someone about why I should have to pay the return instructions when they sent me the wrong chair. Calling them is a complete nightmare, I was shuffled around through their automated system, and after 10 minutes of not actually talking to a human being, I hung up. I then sent E-mails to them that were not responded to. In the meantime the Return Authorization only had a 7 day shelf life, so I bit the bullet and paid for the freight back to them. It has now been 9 days since I returned the item, and I just received a message that they were refunding my money minus a 5% restocking fee.

So, to summarize: I had to pay $23 to have it shipped, then $15 to ship it back, and lost $6 in restocking fees. I and got nothing to show for it.

If you are thinking about buying from this company, just flush $40 of your hard earned money down the toilet, and you'll get the same result. You have been warned.
