Product Description The Aeron chair by Herman Miller is simply put, the best ergonomic chair you can buy. No other office chair works harder to relieve your back and neck pain than the Aeron chair. The high tech mesh fabric means that this chair doesn't look (or work) like other conventional office chairs. But what makes it different makes it better! The patented material on the Aeron distributes pressure evenly over a wider area. The result? You'll stay cool and comfortable no matter what the season. Described as the most comfortable chair in the world and designed with high-tech materials using body-friendly engineering, the Aeron chair comes in three sizes to fit all body types.

It was great at first, but . . . June 21, 2010 Mark Haxthausen (Williamstown, MA) My wife gave me one of these for my 60th birthday. I was thrilled, and this ergonomic chair quickly cured me of various back and shoulder problems I had developed from long hours at my computer. My negative feelings about the chair have to do with two issues. First the mesh seating began to wear out after six years, and I had to put a foam cushion over it to slow the deterioration. Secondly, about the same time one set of wheels began to come off when I rolled the chair forward. On a typical day I would have to stop working and put them back on several times during a work session. For this price, I had expected better. I am now looking for a different chair.
Several Things to Consider June 19, 2010 Ba (Illinois USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love my Fully loaded Aeron. Its very comfortable and it has been a great investment. I did some research on this chair and there are a couple of things which everyone should do and consider as I did.
1. Try the chair out in person at an authorized retail store. Sit it in to make sure it doesn't bother your legs the way some people mentioned it had bothered theirs. Often this is caused by the seat of the chair being too high so the weight of the legs is focused at the front edge of the seat, instead of distributed through the users feet.. Personally, I've never had this problem. Also there are three different choices of chairs which have 3 height ranges, and it can be important to select the right one.
2. Then, buy the chair from the retailer!
Don't try to save $40 from an online dealer and then complain when you have to put it together yourself. A quality store will not expect you to assemble the chair. I purchased mine from Room and Board in Oakbrook IL and had a very nice experience with those folks. They assembled it completely and it was well wrapped for me to transport in my car.
Awfull on my legs April 7, 2010 David Bland (Teaneck, NJ USA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
We got these chairs where I work -- the top line Aeron, and I hate them. I'm a big guy and have the C size chair (large size) and the front of the seat cuts into my legs. For no reason that I can see, the front of the seat curves up, creating the problem. I've tried the smaller, B class chair as well and it has the same problem and is too small for me in other respects as well. One of the other reviewers suggests that the problem is that people like me have the chair too high off the ground, so I experimented around by lowering the chair. While it does help with the immediate problem on my legs it puts me WAY TOO LOW at my desk with my knees a bit higher than my hips (ie, lets are not at a 90 degree angle, more like 100 degrees measured from the vertical). I work at a computer all day and I really dislike this chair
Assembly is more difficult than it needs to be December 12, 2009 Bill Prescott (Orange, CA United States) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
My wife picked out this chair as a replacement for a large leather desk chair that did not provide good back support. The main issue I have is the unnecessarily difficult process of assembly, specifically the procedure for attaching the control cable for the PostureFit Lumbar Back Support. It requires poking a hole through the back fabric of the chair and then inserting the tip of the cable, which is flexible and doesn't want to go through the fabic, so that it can ultimately slide into a keyhole slot in the PostureFit assembly. After about 1 hour of fiddling, cursing and employing all kinds of superflous tools (such as vice-grips) it finally went together. The whole process could have been made much easier by Herman Miller if they had simply pre-punched the hole in the back fabric, with the proper diameter and location, and inserted a cheap rubber grommet to define the location of the hole.
Other than that, the chair is comfortable (although I have made it more comfortable by adding a sheepskin cover), has adequate controls and is an improvement over what I had before.
Very good chair December 10, 2009 Tech Buyer (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Working from home for more than 8 hours a day and having a history of lower back problems, I decided to spend in a good chair to alleviate my daily back pain. So after buying this chair and using it for more than a month, this is my review:
1.The assembly part is disappointed when you have to use a pencil or pen to install the posturefit device.
2.I got the size C because I'm 5ft 8" based on other reviews and I feel the chair to be too deep for me, so I have to use use a back support of tempurpedic material to compensate, which feels better than the posturefit.
3.You cannot adjust the height on the back!!. I had a chair that let me adjust it and I think this chair should have it. Kind of disappointing.
4.Arm support moves to the sides, but the lock mechanism looks like will wear with use and won't leave the support on place. The support moves easily when you sit or stand up .
I had very high expectations for this chair. After using it for more than a month, my back pain went from high to really mild. I think this chair made a big difference in my case. When seating on it, I don't feel a lot of pressure on my back.
Overall it was a good buy for my back problem.
