Not happy with this chair September 7, 2010 Angela C. de Souza (New York, NY, US) Buy this chair only if you have never experienced a higher quality kneeling chair. I am 5'4in. and the balls of my feet rest on the floor. Not good. In fact this negates the entire concept of the kneeling chair. Just get a stool- or a regular chair. If I make the seat higher, my foot still rests on the floor (the knee portion does not raise) and I have to sit on the edge of the seat if the knees are to make contact with the knee portion of the chair- not comfortable and not healthy and anyway, my feet still rest on the floor. This chair is definitely not worth the money unless you want to sit with your feet on top of the kneeling cushion. You might find that comfortable.
Oh, and the directions. Six gold colored screws are not shown in the directions, nor are the wooden coverings for the lever. Look at the picture on Amazon and not at the directions to see how the lever goes.
What they don't tell you... August 14, 2010 L. B. (WI United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The cushions are 2 1/2" thick and are filled with a stiff pad that is perfect for a kneeling chair. The wood frame is 1 1/2" oak that is finished very well. The frame "legs" are 1 3/4" rounded oak and come attached to the frame. The casters are plastic with a bolt end that you screw into metal inserts in the legs. The center brace, that goes from the bottom knee support frame to the top seat frame, is actually the height adjustment mechanism which is made out of thick metal and is covered with a 2 piece hollowed out oak dowel. It's basically a very large bolt with a threaded cap on both ends. One cap is attached to the top frame and the other is attached to the bottom frame. If you want the chair higher, turn the metal ring (which is the center of the bolt) counter clockwise. As you make the seat higher, the frame pivots at at the center point. Which means not only will the seat get higher, but it will also draw the cushions closer together and at a greater pitch. It works well and makes this chair very solid. It comes with all the hardware you need. The instructions are not the best but you can figure it out. The weight limit is 200 lbs. And it is made in Taiwan.
Well made, comfortable but assembly directions are poorly written August 14, 2010 Michael Rousselle (Saratoga Springs, NY) Well constructed and comfortable chair, perfect for a computer station or desk. The assembly direction are very sketchy and could be better written. Actually there are no written directions only a diagram. I assembled chair only to find out that I assembled one part backwards and had unscrew everything and re-assemble the chair. If they had given directions that said, "point two hole downward," I would have saved 20 minutes.
Great, once assembled. June 6, 2010 Anne (Cheyenne, WY USA) Like the product very much. Works perfectly for my needs, solid and looks good. A bit challenging to assemble, but not as bad as Christmas presents for children!
Very Comfortable April 16, 2010 Roger Jones (Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just got the chair and, so far, it is comfortable and sturdy. My complaint, as stated above, is a lack of directions for assembly - it isn't brain surgery but some written directions would be helpful. For the money - a bargain!
